The Series2 has two USB ports for ready connectivity with your home network. This connectivity also gives TiVo subscribers optional access to exciting entertainment services, such as music, digital photos, and multiroom viewing and scheduling via the Web. The TiVo DVR Series2 is compatible with virtually every television. It also works with VCRs, TV antennas, cable systems, and satellite systems. A patented remote control simplifies program recording and controls multiple TiVos within the home (two devices can share your existing phone line). Connections include three video inputs and outputs (S-video, composite-video, and RF coaxial), one set of stereo RCA analog audio inputs, and two sets of stereo audio outputs. A standard female RJ-11 telephone jack is the channel by which the Series2 accesses the TiVo service, or you can use a USB cable to connect to broadband.
TiVo subscribers can pay .95 per month or a one-time product lifetime fee of 9. This TiVo is great: Dispelling some other reviewers issues : TiVo R24004A 40-Hour Digital Video Recorder
We bought our TiVo last year and we love it!! We are no longer slaves to Tv programming, we never miss a show and it's unquestionably easy to use. You can't fantasize how often I rewind a segment and watch it over again in case I miss a word or caption. You will never hassle with taping via a Vcr again, no more hunting for a blank tape. I can't praise this product enough!! We're buying a TiVo for my husband's parents who can't handle a Vcr, so that should tell you the skill level - it's easy. TiVo unquestionably comes in handy when there's nothing on to watch - you just check your list of shows saved and go from there. We like the "season pass" choice to tape our quarterly shows we never want to miss. This is one electronic item you will never have buyer's remorse about. Go ahead, buy the unlimited assistance contract. It's worth it. And 60 hours is plenty - we're good about cleaning out the space once we've watched something. If you get a Sony machine, you can Only download to a Sony Vcr if you want to save something on tape. That was an unpleasant surprise for us.
